Pennoyer Park

Pennoyer Park is a famous city park that is situated across the western shore of the popular Lake Michigan in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The park is situated close to the Illinois & Wisconsin border. There is a separate beach at the park as well. This tends to draw the attention of thousands of tourists and locals alike on weekends and weekdays as well. The beach located at the Pennoyer Park is quite sandy. Moreover, the Pennoyer Park Bike Trail is quite famous amongst the locals. The bike trail is known to extend across the entire length of the park.


The Pennoyer Park is also famous for housing as many as four tennis courts that remain open to the public. There is also the presence of a separate bandshell that organizes a series of local events from time to time. The famous Pops Concert Band from Kenosha is known to perform at the Pennoyer Park for free during the summer season every Wednesday.


The park is situated at the 7th Avenue and 35th Street and is spread out across an area of 35 acres. The vast stretch of the park is known to feature several traits including biking trails, hiking trails, pickleball venues, fishing areas, and a separate public beach. The park remains adjacent of the Lake Michigan and offers picturesque views of the entire lake and its surroundings. The park also provides access to more ponds, streams, and rivers around. The beach at the park is not under the guidance of any staff. Therefore, it is recommended to be aware of the fact that you should remain cautious –especially if you have small kids.


There are several options to entertain yourself at the park –including enjoying picnics, camping, trailing, and fishing. You can also try out some innovative sports or outdoor activities at the park with friends and family members.
